Cash Rents Decline 5% for 2015, by Landowner Newsletter Vol 36, Issue 14

Cash rental rates across the Corn Belt declined about 3% to 7% for 2015, according t our spot check survey of more than 1,000 producers and landowners in early February.  Talk of sharply lower cash rents dominated discussions at farm meetings, kitchen tables and lender offices this fall and early winter. And we’re well aware of anecdotal stories of cuts in rents of $50 to $100 an acre across the three “I” states. Those cuts came on high-end rents —generally rents of $350 and higher. But rents of $325 and lower tended to remain unchanged with under-market rents rising. See the entire article here.
