FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – December 8, 2020
On Tuesday, December 8th, Clift Land Auctions had another successful auction day in Dalhart, Texas. Up for sale was the Hartley County – Smith Farm totaling 1,282 +/- acres and five tracts of Ag Producers Co-op property on N. US Hwy 87. Both of these properties offered online bidding on the Clift Land Auctions website, as well as bidding from the floor.
The room was full and there was a total of 27 people registered to bid at these auctions. Interested parties came from the Dalhart area, throughout the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles, and as far south as Seminole, Texas. The Smith Farm sold as one tract and drew six bids. However, the multi-parcel feature of the Ag Producers auction brought 13 active bidders and 53 bids. In the end there were two satisfied sellers and four happy buyers. “That’s what multi-parcel land auctions are all about”, said George Clift, owner of Clift Land Auctions. “When you split a place into multiple tracts, you bring in more potential buyers, some interested in just one tract, others wanting to combine two or more tracts, and still others wanting the entire property.”
To kick off these auctions, Auctioneer Todd Robertson conducted a charity auction, soliciting donations to the Dallam-Hartley 4H Club. A total of $1,450.00 in donations to the 4H Club came from Froese Custom Harvest in Seminole, TX, Bezner Cattle & Grain in Texline, TX, and G & G Operators in Dalhart. Clift Land Auctions matched a portion of these donations with a $1,000.00 check. It was a great day for Laura Taylor, 4H Extension Agent and these Dalhart young people.
